FLW is being held in Pittsburgh for 2009
Will need plenty of volunteers; don’t yet know all the jobs.
 
Mid-Atlantic Divisional in Erie September – need 6 volunteers
 
Policies and Procedures panel yet to be set up

    • CBAA asked to be removed from Web site
Web site issues
·        how many registered members? There are only 260 out of 650 members registered to use the message boards. Poll questions will be posted soon. All members are encouraged to sign up and vote in each poll.
·        Member’s comment: tough to find where information is, inconsistent.
o       We will be redesigning the site for easier access to information. In the mean time, dig around, and we thank you for your patience.
·        We will work to make tournament submissions feed a tournament page to show all future opens so that membership can see all that is coming up.
 
Lowrance certificate – our most used program. If we put together booklets showing that we advertise, we can pick up other money and product, but we need to do the leg work.
 
Berkley deal – merchandise may NOT be used for resale. Program is administered through the districts. See your district chairman for details.
 
National sponsor startup money will be used to get product to use for fund raising etc. Current product is being used for participants in tournaments as well as fund raising. If there are any suggestions for use, please forward to Mike.
 
November Banquet - would love to see the banquet turn into statewide affair. For now it is for officers and district chairs who come to the committee meetings on Saturday. State sponsors are being invited.
 
Discussion on officer’s expenses, specifically gas
Current mileage is at 38 cents per mile, gas has risen sharply as everyone knows.
Motion to keep our mileage rate at the government rate posted as Joint Travel Rate (currently 58.5 cents per mile) made by Lebanon County

Motion passed to keep the state mileage rate at the Joint Travel Rate posted quarterly by the US Government. The treasurer will adjust expenses accordingly when the rate is changed by the government.

Banquet – Saturday November 8th. Sponsors will be invited. Come and meet the sponsors. Meet the state team. Trade your favorite fishing stories from the past year. Contact Tammy if you wish to attend, we will need a head count.
Fundraisers – Sheetz project – youth – please return unsold coupons to Tammy ASAP. A district has offered to help sell rest of coupons where Sheetz is a big presence.
Clothing sales – youth – need rest of information turned in – made $600 so far
Cruise – state – need 8 rooms for state funds, only 5 booked. (one other pending)
State Team report – all clothing has been donated, all arrangements have been made.   Please thank our sponsors!

The TBF web site is being improved constantly and now offers us a few more tools for checking FLW membership dates etc.
 
All clubs are reminded to keep information for all members, but especially the club officers, up to date. Email will be the major form of quick communication from now on and most members still don’t have email addresses listed.

YBACS Report
YBACS went well with this year’s group of kids a lot more into tournament fishing than in past years.
 
Susquehanna River Report – studies are underway. The conditions on the river should have made for a good spawn but so far it does not look like it was very successful.

Youth to the NGJWC
$500 given to each contestant’s families for expenses

Reel Kids Event, Labor Day weekend, Cabelas in Hamburg, PA, August 31st – 1:00 PM
 
New Youth directors – Ray Sharp and Mike Burgess are both volunteering for the position. Tammy will step down in November. Each will take one facet of the job.
 
Youth tournament in Erie August 22nd and 23rd. – Presque Isle Bay only – still need some boats, please help if you can.
 
New youth club in East, Lebanon County

Regional Tournament format, first one held – increased numbers and payouts – very positive comments coming back. This format will be worked on for state wide use next year.
 
Regional team Tournaments – participation was down over all this year, possible changes to be discussed include 4 man teams, either same fee or $400.
 
Tournament suggestions will be set up in message boards as polls. Vote and voice your opinions. November meetings will be where changes are voted on for 2009

Ebay auction to start Monday August 25th. Autographed pro shirts, rod/reel combos will be on sale. More details on the web site. Chester County Bass Masters would especially like to thank all those from our organization who fished and/or donated.

New College club in PA, hope to have Penn State soon. Miscommunication has caused delays.

Clubs in bad standing due to not attending BOD - Bad Standing Committee – to be addressed with policies and procedures for 2009
 
Adding pictures to the Web site. A test picture site has been installed and will be tested. We wish to have a section for sponsor pictures, other sections members may be able to add pictures to. Details will be worked out.
 
Change "Fiscal year" date to 10/31. Discussion around this pointed out that we do not have to modify our fiscal year to move the deadline date for membership dues.
 
The Secretary and Membership positions will be split at the next election. Secretary is elected, membership is appointed.
 
Motion to make October 31 deadline for next year’s membership dues to allow for turn around and processing time to TBF by December 31st made by Shy Beaver

The 2009 state and TBF dues are due to the state membership director with payment by October 31, 2008. Please start your club processes now and mail early. TBF web site will start accepting 2009 dues in early October.
 
Proposal that FLW dues be paid to end of the year for which the member is paying state dues is tabled pending further discussions.
Motion to have information poll requirements out to membership and table FLW dues paid through next fishing season with details on incentive plan made by Hawg Hunters

District 7, scale issue – District scale was broken eastern regional tournament 2 years ago, would like state to replace the scale. No one present to represent district 7 and explain the situation to the BOD. After discussion, the BOD has decided it would like someone to explain the entire situation to the BOD and turn over the damaged scale for appraisal before making a decision.
 
Members helped at the child wish event in District 4 at Canoe creek Aug 9th.
We will look at annual involvement. Bill Reichert will research questions about this event.
 
The Good of the Order
  • Dist 2 sent article in to TBF on Foster Kid Fishing Day, about 140 kids
