Lancaster County Hawg Hunters

Purpose:
The purpose of this club is to improve our skills as Bass anglers through a fellowship of friendly exchange of expert Bass catching techniques and ideas.  Also we will promote the ideals of good sportsmanship, youth activities, and conservation activities.

Meetings:
Club meetings are held the first Wednesday of every month from 7:00-8:30 pm. at the Elstonville Sportsman Club, 3133 Pinch Road, Manheim, PA.  Anyone interested in becoming a member is welcome to attend.  You can call any club officer for more information.

Becoming A Club Member

Requirements:

To become a club member, a person shall:

  1. Express a genuine interest in membership.

  2. Agree to and sign a liability release form releasing the club of any liabilities before participating in any club activities.

  3. Receive an approval vote from 2/3 of members present.

  4. Agree to become a member of Bass.

    Note: Non-members can participate in 1 tournament per year without joining the club.

Dues:

The annual dues for club membership shall be $60.00 if paid on or before the November meeting for the next membership year. If paid after that date, the dues for membership shall be $65.00. The annual dues for first time members will be $65.00. Current dues breakdown: LCHH- $15.00; PA Bass. Federation-$30.00; National Bass. Charter Federation- $15.00. (For first time members, membership fee for PA Bass Federation is $35.00 instead of $30.00.)

Bass. dues $12.00 are separate and each member’s responsibility.

Club Activities:

bullet Thursday Night Lunker Tournaments:
We sponsor  Thursday Night Lunker Tournaments starting June16 through September 15 at the Long Level access - south ramp. Registration and weigh in are anytime between 5:30-8:30pm. Registration fee is $10.00 (2nd Lunker $5.00 optional) per angler. 70% payout for heaviest bass weighed. 100% payout for optional 2nd Lunker the next heaviest bass weighed.

Youth Club - Junior Hawg Hunters:
We s
ponsor and advise a sanctioned federation junior Bass. club. The youth club meets every second Tuesday of the month at Manor Middle School. The school is located at 2950 Charlestown Rd. Lancaster, Pa. It is open to all boys and girls ages 17 and under, until the roster of 30 is filled. The junior club officers run the club and adult advisors assist with instruction and techniques for bass fishing. As a member, the youth will be able to participate in four club tournaments. The top six anglers from these events will be invited to participate in the Pennsylvania Junior State Team qualifier. They will also be hosting an Open Tournament on September 25 at the Long Level access south ramp. This will be their fundraiser and all anglers are encouraged to participate.  Anyone interested in joining the club are welcome to attend a meeting, contact Ray Caldwell (717) 872-7949, Youth Director or visit the Junior Hawg Hunters website.

conservationConservation Project:
The Lancaster County Hawg Hunters have signed a two-year program participation with th PennDOT to adopt a two-mile portion of Elizabethtown road just north of Manheim and promise to pick-up litter at least four times a year. In return, PennDOT will post signs along the highway giving the club full credit for our efforts.
