Conservation Report = Tom Murray

 Update on Cowanesque Conservation Project (Sept 25th and 26th):

o The District Open tournament is cancelled due to lack of interest.
o The clean-up is still going to take place for anyone interested in helping out.

 Reminder – Personal care and prevention of invasive species – Please wash your boats after fishing lakes to prevent the spread of invasive species.

Youth Report =

 Hunter’s Gallery extended an open invitation to hold a Casting Kids this year.
 Sept 5th – Casting Kids State Championship at Cabellas.  Info is posted on the web.  Contact Ray Sharp.
 Jr Championship at Lake Erie: Info posted on the web site.  Still looking for boat owners to help out.  Contact Ray Sharp if interested.

 Mr BASS 2010
o Overall we had 20 more participants in Mr Bass combined.  East / West format to continue for 2011.

 D 1-3-7:
o D7 attendance was down this year.
o Angler of the Year: Jesse Salmon
o Co-Angler of the Year: Ron Livers
o D7 Angler of the Year: Bill Morey
o D7 Co-Angler of the Year: Dave Kozlansky
o Congratulations to this year’s winners.
o Results are posted on the web site.
o The top 21 Anglers/Co-anglers have access to the Championship.

 Championship:
o Applications are due the 3rd week of September. 
o All information is being posted on the web site.
o The PA Bass Federation is please to announce that the Comfort Inn (10 - 15 minutes to Long Point State Park) has offered to provide a discounted room rate to our members for our 2010 PA State Championship. 

The hotel has set aside a block of rooms (smoking & non-smoking) for our event and they'll offer our anglers a rate of $75 per night (excluding taxes).  They have also agreed to extend the offer a few days before in case you are coming to the area a little bit early to pre-fish.  This rate will be in affect from Tuesday, October 5th through Saturday, October 10th. 
o To obtain this reduced rate, you will need to contact the hotel directly at (716) 664-5920 before October 1st and provide them with the following code of PA BASS.  Please DO NOT BOOK ONLINE as you will not receive our negotiated rate. 

Most rooms will include a microwave & refrigerator in the rooms and I have been assured that there is ample parking & electric for our boats and connections can be made through the bedroom windows if need be.
 

 2011 Tournament Schedule:
o Mr Bass East – Potomac (April)
o Mr Bass West – Lake Erie (July) at Presqueisle, NY
o 2011 State Championship – Lake Oneida (October)
o Regionals: D1 has Eastern Regional choice, D2 has central regional choice, D6 has Western Regional choice.


 Holiday Inn Express at Lake Oneida:  Offering discount for tournament anglers.  Inquire about the discount when making your reservations.

 State BOD meeting:
o F. Lewis announced he is interested in the State Treasurer's position if Ron Rook steps down, otherwise, he has shown interest in running for the position when the BOD votes on officers in 2011 for the 2012 year.
o With Mike Pierro's decision not to run for another term in 2012.  As a result, Chris Wilson has shown interest in running for the Presidency in 2011.
o Dave Ciarletta has agreed to take the appointment of Website Director when a new Membership Director has been appointed.
o Lowrance signed a deal for sponsoring the Mid-Atlantic Divisional Team.
o Voted to do away with the August meeting.  Meetings to be Mar, June, and Nov in 2011.
o November’s meeting will have a member’s banquet after the BOD meeting.  Attendance is encouraged.  Awards will be presented to all of the State Tournament Winners such as, Mr. Bass East, Mr. Bass West, all Regional Winners, Regional Team Winners and the 2011 Divisional Team.

 

 

Old Business
 D 1-3-7 Format for 2011:
o Do we go back to old format?  Clubs to have their vote before the September D7 meeting.

 2010 Raffle Tickets – all tickets were sold.

 2011 Raffle Tickets – hoping to achieve $9-10k in revenue.

 Club with most amount of tickets sold will receive $500 from the PA-TBF


New Business


 2011 District Officers and Directors:
o Looking for a D7 Tournament Director for 2011.
o Looking for a Vice Chairman: asking for nominations by the Sept meeting.

 LCBM Youth and Conservation:
o Request made by LCBM for $50 reimbursement for both it’s youth and conservation project held at Prompton Dam in June 2010.

 Motion made by Bill Morey of BB to not allow F. Lewis to pay the $50 application fee for Cowenesque out of his personal expense.  2nd by Tom Murry, LL.
