New Business

1.Please provide any D7 officer nominations to the September meeting.

2. Thoughts on how do we handle pairings for D7 tournaments for 2012?  Just by draw?  If you go unpaired for an event, you should be paired for the next event, provided participation allows it? etc?  thoughts?

3.  Do we keep the district tournaments separate as we did for 2011, or go back to the 1-3-7 format of 2010? (clubs should come back with a vote on to stay separate or go back to 1-3-7 format)

4. Regardless of the outcome of #3, clubs are to cast their vote for which 3 lakes they would like to see as District 7 tournaments.  As we did last year, largest number of votes per lake/river system by club wins the lake selections.  If it's decided to go back to 1-3-7, then the lake with the most votes wins D7's lake selection if we go that route.  (goal here is to get the lakes chosen and work on dates as soon as possible to minimize scheduling/permiting issues so if changes need to be made, we can do so with enough time so as not to have to cancel a tournament)

5. How do the clubs feel about a different format for D7 tournaments?  Like a super tournament, as in 3 tournaments, 3 days in a row with 3 different lakes close to each other.  Example: Oneida, Onondaga, Owasco or Cayuga/Keuka?  Or have two tournaments on two lakes next to each other?  Oneida/Onondaga?  Cayuga/Keuka?  Harveys/Wallenpaupack?  I'd like to see something to help reduce costs of travel and gas, and make the tournaments have a little different dynamic and challenge since this is a qualifying route to the classic.  Reach out to your fellow club members and get some thoughts around this.

6. District would like to do something for youth like a casting kids at an outdoor expo over the winter.  Would clubs members be willing to participate and help with something like this?  It could be a good recruiting opportunity also for the District.

7.  Reminder if you have done a youth or conservation project to get your request for reminbursement to the District for your $50 credit to a youth or conservation project.  If you've done youth and conservation, that's $100 back to your club from the district.

8.  Leggett’s Creek issued a request for $50 for youth and $50 for conservation for their youth and crib structure project held at Prompton Dam.

9.  Wayne County BM has missed 4 meetings, this makes Wayne County ineligible to cast votes for officers and lake choices for the D7 tournaments.

Hey Steve, Thanks. The 2012 Schedule is being worked on. We are hopping to make the dates public in the next few days. The locations won’t be published until the site locations have been booked and confirmed by the management of the locations. This way the schedule won’t have to be changed later if a location is already booked.
