PENNSYLVANIA BASS FEDERATION DISTRICT 3

July 11th, 2011

CALL TO ORDER:   The meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM by Acting Chairman M. Sabbi.

ROLL CALL:   7 clubs were represented.

Your 2011 club representatives present:

SECRETARY’S REPORT:   By Tom Dellinger

• Copies of the May Secretary’s report were handed out.
• A motion to approve was made by Borderline. Seconded by Brandywine.

TREASURER’S REPORT:  By Ron Rook

• Copies of the Treasurer’s report were handed out.
• A motion to approve was made by Borderline. Seconded by Brandywine.

CONSERVATION REPORT:   

• Fish & Boat Commission introduced a new toll-free hotline for the public to report suspected pollution incidents of fish kills. 1-855-FISH-KIL (347-4545).

PUBLIC RELATIONS:   

• There are 463 members registered on the PA Bass website. Up 30 since May meeting.

YOUTH REPORT:  By Mike Sabbi:

• Mike read a letter written by 11-14 yr old 2010 Champion Kade Wessner of the Lancaster Co JR Hawg Hunters thanking D-3 for their monetary support.
• Steve Koch will transport the D-3 trailer to Presque Isle to be used at the High School & Youth Championship.

 TOURNAMENT REPORT:  By Mike Sabbi

• July 17th North East River tournament has 24 anglers and 20 co-anglers registered as of meeting night.
• D-3 will again be supporting our sponsors, SFT & B&B Lures, by purchasing gift certificates to be awarded at the North East tournament.
• In appreciation for our support in 2011, SFT announced they will donate an additional $75.00 and B&B another $60.00 in certificates to be awarded at the North East tournament.
• 50% of the 50/50 proceeds sold at the tournament to be given to Fred & wife (golf cart driver) in appreciation.
• Motion by Tri-Co that D-3 should purchase the food that will be prepared at the North East. Seconded by Chester Co. Motion passed
• Mike has been updating details and important info about the North East tournament on the website. Please visit often as new info has been developing every day. http://www.pabass.com/club-information/district-3.aspx

 OLD BUSINESS:

• Mike handed out the D-3 Potomac & Gunpowder tournament expense and payout breakdown. See your club representative if you would like a copy.
• D-3 to purchase (2) 10 x 10 commercial grade canopy’s from Cabela’s.

NEW BUSINESS:

• Precision Tackle is interested in purchasing a sponsorship logo on the trailer.
• Dave Ciarletta has the new tournament software working with the scale.
• Dave experienced technical difficulties with the old laptop and suggested an upgrade.
• Motion by Lancaster Co Hawg Hunters and seconded by Tri-Co to replace laptop was passed. Dave will spearhead the “not to exceed $600.00” upgrade.
• NOTICE *** The Regional Park Ranger expressed concern and disappointment to a few members about the dead fish count at the Oneida Eastern Regional tournament. His count was approximately 64 dead fish for the 2 day event. He also mentioned that number has been somewhat consistent throughout previous years. Those numbers are not acceptable!
• Actions will most likely be implemented to help lower that number in the future.
• D-3 has the pick for the Eastern Regional in 2012. Members please discuss location at your next meeting. Also…
• Discuss D-3 tournament locations for 2012. Representatives would like to present them at the November BOD meeting.
• Winner of the 50/50 was Steve Koch.
